Tuckpointing.

Refining the line between stone and mortar.

Tuckpointing Detail

Precision Geometry.

Tuckpointing is an artisan technique used to give the illusion of perfectly level, ultra-fine joints. By using two contrasting colors of mortar—one to match the brick and one to create a sharp "fillet" line—we restore the crisp, geometric aesthetic of your building's facade while providing a fresh barrier against moisture.

01

Joint Raking

Old, decayed mortar is carefully raked out to a consistent depth using specialized hand tools to avoid damaging the edges of the brick or stone.

02

Base Mortar Fill

We apply a base mortar tinted to match the masonry units perfectly, "hiding" any irregularities in the original bricks or stones.

03

The Fillet Line

A fine, contrasting line of lime putty (the "tuck") is hand-applied with surgical precision, creating the signature sharp, clean architectural look.
